VAT RISE? Not if your favourite colour is GREEN

The rise in VAT to 20% this month makes energy efficient products and services more attractive to end users.

Solar panels, combined heat and power, central heating controls, insulation and wind turbines all enjoy a favourable 5% rate of VAT - and this has remained in place despite the rise in the standard rate.

Contractors are being urged to explain this benefit to their customers as the 15% VAT differential could make a huge difference to domestic end users pondering an investment in an energy saving solution.
